Fairground Attraction!

June 10, 2011

Power Up! aims to build students’ Citizen Power, Learning Power and Personal Power. Personal Power (or PSHE!) is all about helping young people make good decisions about their lives, including staying healthy. So here’s my attempt to help a class of Year 9 students gain the information they need to make good decisions about cigarettes and smoking. I built a little fairground with a series of games. The prizes were information booklets about smoking, which they then used create the front cover of a postcard, which will be used to educate other students about the affects of smoking.

You can buy some of the resources used from www.gasp.org.uk or just make your own!
